TieOut is a browser-based tool for scanning CSV trial balance files and generating structural integrity reports. The service identifies potential issues such as imbalances, duplicates, and formatting errors.
Important: TieOut is a read-only structural scan, not financial advice, tax advice, or audit evidence. Results should be reviewed by a qualified professional.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree to use TieOut only for lawful purposes. You may not:
- Use the service to process data you do not own or have permission to analyze
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the scan engine code
- Use automated tools to abuse or overload the service
- Upload malicious files or attempt to exploit vulnerabilities
- Resell or redistribute TieOut results without authorization
3. Disclaimers
Not Professional Advice: TieOut does not provide:
- Tax advice or tax compliance services
- Audit opinions or audit evidence
- Legal or financial advice
- Accounting services or CPA consultation
Always consult a licensed CPA, tax professional, or auditor before making financial decisions based on TieOut results.
4. Limitation of Liability
TieOut is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We do not guarantee that scans will detect all errors or issues
- We are not liable for financial losses, penalties, or damages resulting from your use of TieOut
- We are not liable for errors in scan results or missed issues
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service (if any)
You acknowledge that TieOut is a supplementary tool and does not replace professional review.
5. Data Ownership
You retain full ownership of any files you upload to TieOut. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to process your file in your browser only for the purpose of generating scan results.
We do not claim ownership of your data, and we do not store your file contents on our servers. Only cryptographic digests (SHA-256 hashes) may be logged for verification purposes.
6. Pricing & Refunds
Free Tier: Up to 5 scans per month, up to 10,000 rows per file. No credit card required.
Professional Tier: Pricing to be announced. Early waitlist members receive 3 months free.
Refund Policy: If you purchase a paid plan and are unsatisfied within 7 days, contact us at contact@tieout.app for a full refund, no questions asked.
7. Account Suspension
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including:
- Excessive abuse or fraud attempts
- Uploading malicious files
- Attempting to reverse-engineer the service
8. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email (if you have an account) or by posting a notice on our website. Continued use of TieOut after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which TieOut operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
